Week 1: Getting Started

First, roles were assigned:

Samm Katcher- Programmer

Yunshi (Randy) Wen- builder/logic creator

Marlon Lam- builder/website manager

Samm Katcher got the setup software installed and tested that the code could be uploaded to the robot itself. She was also granted access to the sample code for the program.

Randy and I worked on the base for our robot. After trying different orientations of the treads, we came up with the base of the robot as shown below, with one motor powering each side with a docking space for the cortex on top. Also, with the cortex hinged to the back of the robot as seen in the bottom left picture, all the ports and the battery are easily accessible.

Our plan for next week will be to meet up with a functional logic for the robot and begin programming. The physical robot is planned to be completed on that Monday.
