Week 5: Working with the New Code, Adjusting Light Sensors

Samm was able to get her hands on the new sample code with the course correction. With this new code, however, she needed to work out all of the movements once again to get Daedalus back to where it was. With all of the new movement accounted for, it was time to work with the light sensors. Of course, starting off, they weren't working properly. With the help of the assistants, it was found that the target value of the light sensors in the code required to trigger the course correction needed to be increased; to be safe, Samm made the thresholds 4 and 20 as seen below. After the adjustments were made, the course correction (code below) worked, but it wasn't great. It would arrive at a the white line and adjust, but it wouldn't be really straight.

As a solution, Professor Bram proposed moving the sensors farther apart as shown below. After some tinkering with front pieces, this is the result:

We didn't have enough time to test this new design, but that will be part of the plan when we meet on Wednesday. From here, if the course correction doesn't bug out, then all that's left to do is to integrate the logic and Daedalus should be ready to face his trial.
